Why We Dance — Where We Talk About What Moves Us.

Where We Talk About What Moves Us.

Chapter OneThe Question

WhatMovesYou?

Every episode begins with a simple question.

Why We Dance explores movement in all its forms. Through conversations with dancers, artists, athletes, actors, singers, entrepreneurs, activists, and everyday inspirations, we uncover the moments that shape a life.

This isn't a press interview.

It's an unhurried conversation about identity, memory, and becoming. Where we dive into the heart, humor, and 'why' behind movement.

About Mia

Mia Tate is a filmmaker, actress, former professional dancer, and creator of Why We Dance.

Her work explores movement, memory, and the stories we carry in our bodies — how we move through this one wild and precious life. From the stages of professional dance to the director's chair, Mia has spent her life digging deeper into what moves us.

Why We Dance was born from that question. Each conversation is an invitation to slow down, to listen, to connect, to laugh, and to remember that the most meaningful stories often live beneath the surface.

The body remembers.

We all have a story that we carry. At Why We Dance we sit down with people who have loved, healed, survived, reimagined, and thrived through dance and movement.
